Lifecycle NotesEggs are laid singly on host plant leaves. Larvae are striped with black, white, and yellow bands, featuring fleshy filaments. Pupae are green with golden spots, hanging upside down.
Identification TipsDistinguished by its orange wings with strong black venation, black margins with two rows of white spots, and a prominent white band on the black forewing apex. Often confused with the Plain Tiger (*Danaus chrysippus*), but *D. genutia* has more pronounced black veins and a different white pattern on the forewing.

Description

A medium to large butterfly with bright orange wings, prominent black veins, and black margins adorned with white spots. The forewing apex is black with a distinct white band.
