Description
The Peleides Blue Morpho is a large, iridescent blue butterfly native to the Neotropical realm. Its striking blue coloration is structural, meaning it results from the microscopic scales on its wings reflecting light, rather than from pigment. The underside of the wings is typically dull brown with prominent eyespots, providing camouflage when the wings are closed.
