Description

The caterpillar of the Apollo Butterfly (Parnassius apollo) is characterized by its velvety black body adorned with rows of prominent orange or yellow spots along its sides. It is typically found feeding on its host plants, primarily various species of stonecrop (Sedum) and houseleek (Sempervivum). The larvae are known to be active during the day.
