Description
A large and distinctive white butterfly with somewhat translucent wings. Its forewings feature prominent black spots, while the hindwings display characteristic red ocelli (eyespots) ringed with black and often with a white pupil. The body is hairy, and the antennae are clubbed. It is known for its slow, gliding flight.
