Description
The Eighty-eight Butterfly (Diaethria clymena) is a captivating species of brush-footed butterfly, celebrated for the unique numerical pattern on the underside of its hindwings. This pattern, resembling '88' or '89', is a key identifier and gives the butterfly its common name. The upperside of its wings features a striking contrast of black with iridescent blue or green bands on the forewings. These butterflies are commonly found in the tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America.
