Description

The Orange-tip Butterfly is a medium-sized butterfly, easily recognizable by the distinctive bright orange tips on the forewings of the males. Females lack the orange tips, having black or dark grey tips instead, but both sexes share a mottled green and white pattern on the underside of their hindwings, which provides excellent camouflage when resting among plants. They are typically found in spring, flying from April to June.
