Description

The Marbled White is a distinctive medium-sized butterfly known for its striking black and white checkered wing pattern. Despite belonging to the 'browns' subfamily (Satyrinae), its coloration is predominantly white with bold black markings, giving it a unique appearance. Both sexes are similar, though females tend to be slightly larger and often have a creamier ground color. They are typically found in open, grassy habitats, where their slow, gliding flight makes them easily observable.
