Lifecycle NotesEggs are laid singly on host plant leaves. Larvae are typically spiny with dark bodies and lighter markings. Pupae are camouflaged, often green or brown.
Identification TipsMales are easily identified by a broad orange band on the black upperside of the forewing. Females, as seen here, have yellow bands and red spots on a dark background, with the distinctive underside pattern of yellow marginal bands and red spots being key.

Description
