Lifecycle NotesEggs are laid singly on young leaves of host plants. Larvae are green with yellow markings and two pairs of horns. Pupae are green or brown, resembling a twig, and are attached by a silken girdle.
Identification TipsLook for the characteristic pattern of cream/yellowish-green spots on a dark background, especially the rows of spots on both forewings and hindwings, and the presence of tails on the hindwings.

Description

A medium to large-sized butterfly with dark brown to black wings adorned with numerous bright cream or yellowish-green spots arranged in distinct rows, and prominent tails on the hindwings.
