Description

The Lemon Pansy (*Junonia lemonias*) is a medium-sized, striking brush-footed butterfly (family Nymphalidae) native to South and Southeast Asia. Its wings are typically yellowish-brown to reddish-brown, adorned with prominent, often iridescent, ocelli (eyespots) on both the forewings and hindwings. The underside can vary seasonally, with drier season forms often being paler and less marked. It is a common and adaptable species, frequently found in open habitats such as gardens, grasslands, and agricultural fields.
