Lifecycle NotesThe larvae are typical 'looper' caterpillars (inchworms), usually green or brownish, feeding on leaves of various deciduous trees. They pupate in a flimsy cocoon on the ground or among leaves.
Identification TipsLook for the pure white to cream base color, the fine brown speckling, and especially the three distinct, wavy, scalloped brown cross-lines on each forewing and two on each hindwing. The body is also white and hairy.
